Last Saturday Round 2 of the EMP Sound Off Battle of the Bands went down. The bands were playing for a spot in the finals on March 7th. The winner of Sound Off will get to play at Bumbershoot along with other prizes. The bands that performed included Free City Collective, Makeup Monsters, Brier Rose, and The Mission Orange. There is still one more round of semi-finals this Saturday the 28th.

The third round semi-final was completed Saturday at EMP. SOL a hip-hop artist from Seattle won the third spot to the finals that will be held on March 7th. Other performers were Cyrus Fell Down, Kids Get Hit by Buses, and Rapzy and the Vigilantes. This was the last semi-final, along with the other two semi-finals winners and a wild card band, SOL will play at the Sky Church inside EMP.

On Valentines day the first Sound Off 2009 semi-final went down at Level 3 inside the Experience the Music Project. Four played for their chance to get to the finals on March 7th. Sound Off is a battle of the bands focusing on the best underage bands in the area. The rest of the semi-finals rounds will continue on February 21st and 28th with the finals set for March 7th. The winner of Sound Off 2009 will play at Bumbershoot this year.
