Each year in March, concerned citizens from San Francisco join their brethren around the world in protesting the disintegration of the moral majority and the collapse of marriage. The Brides of March is not simply a way to make fun of the Ides of March, but also a way for common people to reestablish ownership of, and rekindle passion for, traditional marriage.

On November 4, 2008, voters overrode the California Supreme Court by passing Proposition 8 defining marriage between a man and a woman. In the days after Prop 8's passage, several lawsuits were filed to challenge the validity of Proposition 8.The Supreme Court heard oral arguments on March 4, 2009 - and both sides came out to express their passions.
ts the day after Memorial Day and about 200 people have gathered outside the California Supreme Court in anticipation of their decision on Proposition 8.
