At Chicago's Millenium Park (just next door to Grant Park where Obama accepted the Presidency), is a summer program where world music from all over the globe is featured every Thursday -"Music Without Borders". People from all over the city and from all different cultural backgrounds flock to the park to get a glimpse of this cultural delight where the music is never expected and never forgotten. This program means to much to so many different people (ie minorities connecting with their homeland's music being presented, other people appreciating the cultural spectrum of music they might not otherwise get to experience etc.) It is truly one of the best parts about summer in Chicago.
